Nats' Wang has second bullpen session

Nationals right-hander Chien-Ming Wang had his second bullpen session Wednesday. He threw 30 pitches--all four-seam fastballs--without feeling any pain.

"He looked good again," pitching coach Steve McCatty said about Wang on Thursday. "He was free and easy. There were no problems and that's what you want the session to be -- keep the ball down. To the point of where he is at, the velocity is fine. The motion was free and clean."

Wang, who is recovering from right-shoulder surgery, had his first bullpen session of the spring Monday afternoon. He threw 10 pitches on flat ground and then 15 pitches on the mound. He wanted to throw more pitches after the session was over.

Wang is not expected to pitch in a big-league game until sometime in May, however, his next bullpen session is most likely Friday.

Please take your time with this guy I hope he is just as big a part of the teams future as Strasburg. This was another excellent move by Rizzo.

You are absolutely right. Washington needs to take it easy with Wang who will be a big part of the club and the season. I don't have to remind you Wang is a proven successful MLB starter, a two-time 19 games winner in 2006 and 2007, and was an important part of a national baseball team in Taiwan before he signed up with the Yankees many years ago. You will be proud of him and what he is capable of as a Washington teammate.

According to TW media, Wang threw 18 warmup on flat then 15 pitches bullpen session.

On Tue. play catch at 60ft. 25 throws.

On Wed. 28 warmup on flat ground, then 30 pitches bullpen session.

So looks like he is not on "pitch/throw one day, rest one day" mode...

However, please nationals take slow with him, even he said he's all right, if team thinks he need a break, let him rest....

Simply speaking, don't rush. Let him have a full recovery.
