Phillies have interest in Willingham
The Phillies have expressed interest in Nationals outfielder Josh Willingham, but don't expect the Nationals to acquire right-hander Kyle Kendrick for him, according to a baseball source.
The Nationals would want a good young prospect for Willingham, who is arbitration eligible the next two years. In fact, it appears that Willingham is likely to stay with the Nationals.
"[The Nationals] like the fact that Willingham is under their control for two more years," said the source, who said the Phillies are one of many teams to have interest in Willingham.
In other news, the Nationals are not in a rush to trade outfielder Adam Dunn, but they would deal him for the right players. According to a published report, the Tigers had interest in Dunn, but the asking price was too high.
Ok Nationals are having a hard time. But to trade Dunn and Willingham is dumb. They stink and Dunn and Willingham are one of the most important players. Wait till free agency or something. They spent like 2 months trying to sign Dunn and trading him means they wasted their time. Trade some minor league players for one good pitcher. Better yet sign Strasburg. Yeah he wants so much money but he is the number 1 college pitcher. After this sign some better pitchers. Or trade some people from your farm system. Don't waste your time and trade Dunn and Willingham.

dunn willingham morgan and zim are the only ones worth going to the park to watch right now. trade them and you can keep my season tickets for the rest of this year and don't bother sending a renewal

I think half the NL has an interest in Willingham. We have him, Dunn and Morgan set for at least one more year. If we trade Dunn do it next year at the deadline or give him an extension depending on how his defense improves. Give Josh the same kind of deal they gave Zim - he's that good. He could be at either the No. 3 or 4 spot instead of 5 or 6 in the order.

Keep Josh, he's a franchise player. When we've let him play, he's been great! He will hit 30 HR next year. Let's focus on signing Strasburg before the deadline, that would be a great transaction & we don't have to give any talent to other teams.
