The Nationals have finally begun to put forth a real effort to manufacture runs, not just swing for the fences. The question is will their renewed emphasis on fundamental baseball be enough. And do they have enough time to make it work. Unfortunately, because they waited so long to make the change in their approach their destiny is no longer in their hands. Their making the play offs will depend a great deal on the success or lack thereof of the Mets.
