Zimmermann update
Nationals right-hander Jordan Zimmermann was scheduled to pitch against the Reds on Tuesday, but he was scratched because of right elbow fatigue.
Zimmerman started having problems with his elbow during a bullpen session on Saturday, two days after pitching against the Giants on Thursday. The team doesn’t believe the injury is serious even though Zimmermann said he felt some pain in the elbow. In fact, Zimmermann will pitch against the Rays in Tampa on Saturday.
“I have a little fatigue in the elbow. I threw my [bullpen session] on Saturday and, the next day, the arm didn’t come back the way it usually does,” Zimmermann said.
