Olsen back in town; Willingham takes batting practice
Nationals left-hander Scott Olsen, on the disabled list because of a sore left shoulder, returned to Nationals Park after spending several weeks at the team’s complex in Viera, Fla.
After rehabbing the shoulder, Olsen pitched two innings in an extended spring game recently. According to manager Manny Acta, Olsen will soon have a rehab assignment for Class-A Potomac. The Nationals are hoping that Olsen will be activated from the disabled list during the middle of June.
In other news, Josh Willingham, who missed the last three games because of a viral infection, took batting practice on Friday. He is feeling much better and available to pinch-hit in Friday’s game against the Mets.
