Lannan pitched in Minor League camp

Nationals left-hander John Lannan pitched five scoreless innings in Saturday’s intrasquad game. He gave up two hits, struck out three batters and walked none. Lannan threw 59 pitches, 43 of which went for strikes.

That was good. You should hope you get him back.

OK, that is good, I grant you, but in order to do so well in an intersquad game at home, our frontline hitters had to stink. Still, the percentage of strikes was all Lannan, at least.

In he meantime, Shawn Hill keeps up the years-long tease. I won’t pencil him in anytime soon.

I’m glad that both Lannan and Zimmermann are doing well this spring.
